About Environment Nevada
We’re your state environmental group: protecting the places we love, advancing the environmental values we share, winning real results for our environment.
Who we are
Environment Nevada is a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy organization. Our professional staff combines independent research, practical ideas and tough-minded advocacy to overcome the opposition of powerful special interests and win real results for Nevada’s environment. What we do
Whether it’s exploring Mt. Charleston, enjoying a picnic at Mill Creek, or enjoying a special place closer to home, Nevada’s natural wonders enrich our lives in countless ways. Yet the places we love and the values we share are too often threatened.
We research the issues and educate the public about what’s at stake. Through our reports, news conferences and interviews with reporters, we help the media cover environmental issues in ways that make sense. Our canvassers meet citizens where they are — starting conversations in public places or going to door-to-door — explaining our mission while raising awareness and funds for environmental protection.
When decisions are being made about our environment, our elected officials hear plenty from the oil companies, developers and other powerful interests. We speak up for our environment, making our case to public officials and helping you make your voice heard when it matters most.

RESULTS
- Lake Tahoe and all of our nation’s waters are better protected. The EPA announced plans to strengthen Clean Water Act rules after we delivered thousands of signatures urging them to do so.
- High-desert skies will stay smog-free. The EPA is moving to limit smog, soot and global warming pollution nationwide, thanks in large part to the timely action of our advocates, organizers and members.
- Nevada is an important step closer to a clean-energy economy thanks to a critical energy tax credit we helped to renew.
