Dear Senator,

We can repower America with clean energy, protect our environment, and transform our economy in the process -- putting millions of Americans to work building wind turbines, installing solar panels, weatherizing homes, and building the 100-miles-per-gallon cars of the future.

This June, the House of Representatives approved the American Clean Energy and Security Act. We urge you to work to strengthen and pass that legislation.

Please support:

• Requiring utilities to generate at least 25 percent of the nation’s energy from renewable sources, such as wind and solar power, by 2025.

• Cutting energy use in new buildings by half and requiring utilities to use 15 percent less energy by 2020.

• Reducing global warming pollution 35 percent by 2020 and by at least 80 percent by 2050.

• Holding Big Oil, Dirty Coal and other polluters accountable and making them pay for their global warming pollution.
